Artists > David Pilgrim Prov.ROI
David currently works from his studio in Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire and his work is largely based on landscape and figurative themes. David prefers to work on location (en plein air) whenever possible, seizing the moment and trying to capture the essence of what he sees and feels.
David strongly believes in keeping the creative spirit alive through daily artistic activity, whether it be a 5 minute sketch in his lunch hour, a plein air study or longer session on a studio painting. This takes discipline but not only does this help in the development of technique, it encourages the mind to naturally engage with visual concepts.
In 2011 David was elected a provisional member of the presitigious Royal Institute of Oil Painters, having exhibited at the annual open exhibition for the last five consecutive years. David was also awarded two prizes in the Bath Prize 2010 for 'Best plein air painting' and 'Best small painting'.
His work has featured in several publications, having written full articles for magazines such as The Artist magazine.
