Artists > JUDY BOYT MA FRBS SEA
Judy Boyt is a sculptor and designer with a passion for the natural world, principally animals. Her strong observational drawings are initially translated into sculpture using metal armatures as 3D 'drawn line'. She works from the inside out, adding the flesh and muscle, to create sculptures of great presence that capture the living essence in the final metal cast. All her works are created with the surroundings in mind so that its final placement on site will be enhanced, strengthened and framed.
Judy is presently adding to her considerable range of small and large sculptures with work that is more abstracted but still retains a recognisable figurative element. She is also moving into more 'immediated' methods of construction using various materials and found objects as well as cast metal.
Judy's work is equally suited for the landscape, cityscape or interiors and she has worked with architects, developers and Town Councils on many major projects.
Her largest bronze sculpture, 'Rebellion', commissioned by Standard Life, is now sited in the City of London and was awarded the RBS medal for Sculpture. Other notable sculptures include 'Evocation of Speed' for Epsom and Ewell Borough Council and 'Up to the Line' for Red Row Developments, Centrica Business Park in Windsor.
Her clients include the Sultan of Brunei, the British Royal Family, the UAE Royal Family and the later President of the UAE. CV
